F1’s black and white flag: Explaining racing’s yellow card for drivers

“it is an indication to everyone that the motorist’s on notice since you only get one for the race. In the event you do it again, the drivers have been advised that every other infraction is going to be known to the stewards.”
Charles Leclerc:”I presume since Austria it is apparent that we are able to go somewhat further in the manner that we shield and overtake… I think that Austria helped me to alter this strategy. It was obviously quite on-the-limit but… yeah, I am delighted to race such as this.”
Lewis Hamilton:”If that is the way we’re permitted to race then I will race like this. So long as we realize that you are permitted to not leave a car width as long as you are not currently contradicting us and a message is there. Therefore you are permitted to run broad even if a person is there and you simply receive a warning flag, and you merely need that once to possibly maintain the man behind you”
Sky F1’s Martin Brundle:”It was hard to phone [at Monza], and I am very supportive of the’let them race’ doctrine so long as it’s consistent and the motorists don’t take liberties and spoil everything.”
Sky F1’s Karun Chandhok:”I actually enjoy the concept of the black-and-white warning flag from Michael Masi and it was a great choice to not break up the battle but just warn Charles he wouldn’t eliminate this type of strong defence on a normal basis.”
Mercedes’ Toto Wolff:”I think there will be many more cars touching, so it will be standard practice. My opinion is that it’s going to reach the stage where there is a crash and we are likely to bail out. Until thenwe let them race”
