Jurgen Klopp praises Liverpool ‘role model’ James Milner

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp praised”role model” James Milner later he helped a young Liverpool side progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Milner scored the opening goal as they won 2-0 away on Wednesday night to set up an attractive tie at home to Arsenal.
Harvey Elliott became the youngest player to start a competitive match for the Reds at 16 decades and 174 days old and double hit the crossbar, but it had been evergreen Milner that Klopp chosen out as their primary performer.
“This man is on fire,” Klopp replied when asked regarding the 33-year-old’s contribution.
“This is how it is, it’s good. It really helps a lot and he is a role model for young players. Every day, if we could play he would be like this each day – .
“The team had a lack of expertise and too little the participant with the most experience and rhythm has been the best player .
“We’re here to win the game, no other motive, so that I am so glad we went through, that is cool.”
Curtis Jones (18) was man of the game and Ki-Jana Hoever (17) scored Liverpool’s second goal but it was Elliott who earned the plaudits from his manager.
“Sixteen years old still and this type of footballer, it’s fantastic for people,” added Klopp.
“[He’s ] a brilliant boy, chooses the situation really well, wants to understand and he will always be a special player in moments but his overall game that is really, really good.
“He was a bit unlucky otherwise he’d have played, he’s a great player but all of them are good.
“We haven’t any bad young players and that’s precisely why it is important we can give them these matches and try to continue in this way.”
Liverpool return to Premier League actions against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday before facing Red Bull Salzburg in Anfield in the Champions League on Wednesday.
