Kilkenny Camogie manager Ann Downey has stepped in the aftermath of her consecutive ultimate defeat.
Downey led the Cats in 2016 to All-Ireland glory, however, was not able to repeat the trick.
The Noresiders fell to some loss in the hands of Galway at Croke Park on Sunday to Cork at 2018 and 2017.
She made the announcement at the room after the defeat on the Tribeswomen.
“Ann Downey has decided to resign from her managerial role with all the Kilkenny senior camogie team,” said Kilkenny Camogie chairperson Sheila Norris in an announcement on Monday morning.
“Having completed a yearlong stint from 2008-2009 and reaching the All Ireland in 2009, she took over the reins at 2016, bringing the group to claim that his first All Ireland in twenty two years in her very first year in charge. Three in a row National League Division 1 names were secured in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and attaining the closing really and in each of these years in 2019. We also won three Leinster names. She also received the accolade of director of this year in 2016.
“Kilkenny Camogie is extremely grateful to Ann for its time and dedication she’s given to Camogie within the last four decades. Her commitment to her sport as well as her county was next to none and we need her all the very best in her future endeavours.”
