Liverpool warn supporters in Naples to be ‘vigilant’ over fears of violence from Napoli fans

Liverpool have warned their supporters in Naples to remain inside their hotels and prevent wearing club colors over anxieties to their personal safety.
Ahead of the opening Group E battle Napoli on Tuesday, the Reds issued information simply to travel to the scene on designated buses and also to”remain vigilant” in areas away from the city’s vent over fears of violence from rival fans.
Several Liverpool fans were treated for stab wounds when they last visited the town during the 2010-11 Champions League campaign, when reports explained Reds supporters as being”hunted” by Napoli ultras.
Even the Premier League club have advised travelling supporters that”before match-day, (they) should remain in their various hotels to eat and drink” and”shouldn’t congregate (on mass) in public areas and should avoid becoming isolated”.
They also stated:”Supporters are strongly advised not to wear club colors from the port area (also ) any lovers wanting to visit the interior regions of Naples city should stay vigilant and be aware they could be targeted at petty theft, assault and vandalism.”
Supporters also needs to”not make their own approach into the stadium because of threats to their personal security. This is important even if your hotel is near to the stadium”.
Liverpool fans are advised to congregate no more than 15:30 in the Naples Marine Terminal for shuttle buses to the scene, the final leaving no later than 18:30, and they’ll be hauled back within the San Paolo Stadium for at least one hour after the full-time whistle.
