Mayo’s Ger Cafferkey retires from intercounty football

Mayo’s Ger Cafferkey has declared his retirement.
The Ballina Stephenites guy played with the Connacht county for 11 decades, making his championship debut out to New York in 2009.
He became a key member of their negative, shoring up the defence against fullback.
During his career, he picked up an All-Star award in 2012, and won six Connacht Championship awards.
He becomes the next Mayo participant to retire to Dublin in the wake of this All-Ireland semi-final conquer, following the decision of Andy Moran.
