SMU vs. Navy NCAAF Pick – Week 13

The stakes get turned up a notch in the AAC on Saturday in Annapolis between the Navy Midshipmen and SMU Mustangs.

SMU and navy will probably Try to get speed from the AAC West. Its anybodys branch right now. Although Memphis and SMU are tied with a complete record of 9-1 navy, SMU, and Memphis have a conference record of 5-1. Adhering to a 52-20 reduction against Notre Dame last week, Navy fell to. It wasnt a competitive game in any way, since the Fighting Irish put it on early and frequently. Notre Dame set 48 points that are first-half up to spoil Navy. It was a performance that they could have made a statement.
The AAC is facing them and they can earn a stand against the Mustangs at Annapolis at home, although there was no statement made. Itll be a matchup against another top-25 team this week. SMU enter Saturday in No. 21 from the FBS. Their only loss was from Memphis, so they are likely to have to hope for Memphis to crash and burn in the subsequent two weeks. The nod will obviously go at a tiebreaker to Memphis. The same is true for Navy, that have been conquered by a rating of 35-23 in September. Both these teams may have tremendous seasons. Navy have completed a lot of things this season, despite passing up an opportunity to overcome Notre Dame.
Quarterback Malcolm Perry did have a day against Notre Dame. He ran for 117 yards on 25 carries to lead the Midshipmen. Perry was a pilot to lead this assault. He might not be about exactly the exact identical amount as Keenan Reynolds, not many quarterbacks that come to the academy will be good, but Perry is playing the best soccer at QB since Reynolds graduated, that we have seen. Perry will look to build on a effective year against SMU. He has racked up 1,159 racing yards and 16 touchdowns on the floor for 6.4 yards per carry. It is a remarkably difficult defense to get ready for, particularly if there are athletes around the defensive side of the ball.
Though I am not so sure their triple-option can be held by the Mustangs in assess as nicely, notre Dame have those athletes. Like has been the norm in 2019 In case Shane Buechele, the Longhorn, gets into a groove, theyll be fine with Navy. Keeping up with Buechele and the Mustangs offense can be a challenge. Buechele has passed 28 touchdowns and 8 interceptions with 3,195 passing yards heading into Saturday. We are going to find out what he will produce from a Navy defense that have been reeling. Head below to our free Navy vs. SMU select.
There are not any secrets regarding what the Navy Midshipmen are going to do on Saturday. Every defensive coordinator and player in the country knows of what the triple-option entails. Preventing it may be a different situation, though. Navy are 1st in the country using a whopping 349.3 rushing yards per game. While running back Nelson Smith has galloped for a solid 512 yards perry has become the focus of the crime. Navy are readily clearing 5yards on average when they run the ball, which is much. Perry has not pitched the ball but has been precise enough with 5 touchdown passes and 3 interceptions.
The Mustangs have been average at defending the run using 124.4 yards per game. They havent been awful but not fantastic. This will undoubtedly be the most daunting job that SMU have had on the ground. Another challenge will be got by them a week. TCU would be. They have hurried for 215.6 yards per game, so well behind what the Midshipmen are doing. In any case , the Horned Frogs torched that the Mustangs for 236 yards on the floor. Darius Anderson ran for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns with 8.5 yards per carry.
TCU handed 188 yards in that game, but were able to retain the ball on the floor and put up 38 points. It wasnt sufficient at a 41-38 loss, however. Navy could need more than that to beat SMU too. SMU will develop the offense in such a one. They rank amongst the best offensive units in college football with 522.2 yards per game. That places them in a tie by Washington State for a spot ahead of Alabama and its 6th best offense. They have been better compared to Washington State at finishing drives, as the Mustangs have shrunk 45.1 points a match, 5 more than the Cougs.
In their past two games, SMU piled on those points with 107 points scored in total from Memphis and East Carolina. Their 48 points was not good enough against Memphis in a 54-48 conquer. And despite scoring 59 points against East Carolina, the Pirates were able to maintain the score in 10 points. The crime was terrific with 40 points scored in eight of their last nine games, but also the defense has enabled teams to hang about. Search to do something similar to what TCU did by finding factors rushing the football. This looks like a 41-35 or even 43-35 match, therefore the OVER resembles its worth a gander in Annapolis on Saturday.
